We’re on a high after taking time out for another hugely enjoyable visit to BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition (BTME) 2023. 

Once again, the popular exhibition proved itself to be the country’s leading golf course and sports turf management event.

Grass Science Seeds finds the wide choice of lectures, presentations and exhibitors is second to none and, of course, there’s the chance to catch up and chat with old friends as well as make new ones.

Memorable Moments

Given such a packed programme over three days at the convention centre in beautiful Harrogate, it is a tricky challenge to choose the most memorable moments.

But we thought inspirational speaker Gavin Oattes was exactly that and Dr Frank Rossi was fascinating on turfgrass science. 

Just as brilliant was the story of the course preparations for hosting the British Golf Open in July at the Royal Liverpool course at Hoylake on the Wirral, which certainly made us think.

Pace of Development

We’d be the first to say the first to say that it is not just about networking, mingling with top turf managers and admiring the latest seed sowing machinery.

Our industry continues to develop at an amazing pace as a result of climate and environmental concerns, ever improving technology and a changing rules regime. 

The British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA), the largest of its kind in Europe (and the ‘B’ in BTME) is superb at helping businesses such as Grass Science Seeds stay informed.
